Luffy x Reader: Look at Me and Only Me(Oneshot)

Everything had ended, the goals were reached, and a new legend had shone brighter than the previous. The new pirate king had been announced, the news spreading through the world. The last island was conquered and the last battle was over, the world was now at peace. Even after everything, the crew decided to stay together, traveling with each other as one. You too, had reached your goal and became strong just like the rest. But there was something you have yet to do and accomplish, that was to confess your feelings for Luffy. Your feelings for Luffy were true to the heart, your heart would thump loudly each time he was close to you. You promised yourself that after everything was over, you would surely confess. Nami and Robin had been supportive of you, but you couldn’t find the right time to do it. Since Luffy became the pirate king there were many women that were attracted to him and would try to charm him. But in the eyes of those women, anyone could tell that they were only interested in the idea of becoming the pirate queen. However, Boa Hancock was different from the rest. She too was madly in love with him, trying to make him love her back with the same passion. You weren’t like Boa Hancock, your beauty couldn’t even compare to hers, your seduction didn’t work as effectively as hers. Even so, watching as Boa Hancock and Luffy were together was painful, as if someone had thrown a knife right through your heart. Remembering the night when the tears fell was heart wrenching, remembering when you ran away from Luffy was bitter. Boa Hancock had asked Luffy to let her travel along, like always, Luffy never said no. There was no need to hurt yourself any more, it was fine to let go. With that in mind, the time when you would stand in front of your beloved captain and say as the tears fall “I’m saying ‘good bye’...”

The time came and it was time to say goodbye, you stood in front of Luffy and Boa Hancock. Luffy turned his head and asked “What with the gloomy face?” The tears fall and Luffy panicked “Eh? Why are you crying? (y/n)? (y/n)?” The little teardrops had long since fallen down the deck, you couldn’t look up. Everyone was looking at you, their eyes showed worriness. “I’m leaving this crew.” Luffy flinched and everyone was shocked. Sanji and Chopper came over and tried to convince you otherwise, but were shut up by your silence. Boa Hancock looked at you, her long eyelashes flawlessly blinking beautifully like gentle feathers of thousand jewels. You bowed your head and turned, said to your captain “I’m sorry…” Just when you walked, your captain’s hand snatched yours arm. You stopped, he asked “Why do the depth of your eyes show a sea of pain? Who did this to you?” This was a question you didn’t want to answer, it was bitter and tasteless. You scraped Luffy’s hand off and replied “That is something I cannot answer.” Luffy pushed you down on the deck, his hands holding you down to the floor. His face had darkened completely, he said angrily “I won’t let a fellow crewmate leave without telling the captain why she suddenly decided to leave.” You freed yourself from Luffy’s wrist and curled into a ball. “It’s painful...for me to watch you looking at another woman, it’s painful for me to watch the man I love ignore me and spent his time with someone else…” You uncurled yourself and walked over to the railing and continued “Why should I stay here if I’m bound to suffer instead of taking the waiting chance to escape my bitter feelings, to forget about everything and continue my journey. This world is vast, there are many places I could go to...t-” A warm arm wrapped itself around you, embracing you from behind. You were taken by a moment of shock as you turned, Luffy was hugging you tightly from behind. “Stay here and be my pirate queen, for eternity…as the woman I love and respect.”

Several years later, the memory of that moments still brought a smile to your face. Luffy didn’t change and was still childish like he usually was, but he definitely had another kind of atmosphere around him when you and him were alone. He would somehow be more possessive and mature, projecting more of a gentleman and boyfriend atmosphere. Boa Hancock had long since given up on Luffy when she realized she was no match for you, the love between Luffy and you had deepened as each day passed. “You’re my pirate queen, for the eternity of my life.” You chuckled and replied “Then promise me that I’m the only one you will ever look at, the only woman you will ever love for eternity.” With his warm hands embracing you tightly, he replied “I promise….”
